Privacy Policy

Last updated 23 June 2026

This policy explains what personal information Lioria collects when you subscribe to our weekly letter, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Lioria is intended for Australian residents; if you subscribe from outside Australia, see "If you're outside Australia" below.

Who we are

Lioria is a weekly letter for new mothers. If you have any questions about your privacy or this policy, contact us at privacy@hellolioria.com.

What we collect

The optional free-text note may include sensitive information, such as how you're feeling. You don't have to share it, and we only collect it with your consent.

Why we collect it

We collect only what we need for these purposes.

Your consent, and the optional questions

Subscribing means you consent to receive the letter and to your information being handled as described here. The questions after sign-up are optional - you can subscribe without answering any of them, and skip or leave them blank at any time. Where you choose to share the free-text note, we use it only to support and tailor your experience, we limit who can see it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Who we share it with, and where it's held

We use a small number of trusted providers to operate Lioria - to send the letter and store your profile, to host the website and process sign-ups, and to measure site usage. Some are located overseas (see "Sending information overseas"). Each is bound by a data processing agreement requiring it to protect your information consistently with this policy. We do not sell your personal information.

Sending information overseas

Because some of these providers are based overseas, your information may be stored or processed outside Australia - primarily in the European Union and the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How we measure our website

We use a privacy-focused analytics tool to understand how people use our site, such as which pages are visited and how sign-up works. We run it without tracking cookies, so we don't store tracking identifiers on your device and you won't see a cookie banner. We never send your free-text note or other sensitive information to our analytics.

How we store and protect your information

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information, restrict access to those who need it, and secure our credentials. We keep your information only while you're subscribed; if you unsubscribe, we delete or de-identify your profile within 60 days. Free-text notes are kept only as long as needed and can be deleted on request.

Your rights and choices

To exercise any of these, email privacy@hellolioria.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time, and within any timeframe required by law.

If you're outside Australia

Lioria is intended for Australian residents, but we apply this policy to every subscriber.

Data breaches

If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will act in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme - assessing and containing it, and notifying you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required.

Complaints

If you're concerned about how we've handled your information, contact us first at privacy@hellolioria.com - we'll take it seriously. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we'll tell you in the weekly letter or by email before it takes effect.
